A mini bullion van belonging to the WESTEC Security system was robbed at a gunpoint at Mmaapehia on the Techiman-Sunyani road in the Bono East Region.
According to sources,The van with registration number GT 3181-W was heading to Sunyani from Techiman but was intercepted by eight armed men on sqFriday afternoon.
The gang opened gunfire at the mini bullion van leaving the police officer who escorted the van wounded on the left arm.
They run away with an undisclosed amount of money in the safe.
Regional Police command has confirmed the incident but wouldn't speak about it until later.
Meanwhile,the Toyota Hilux mini bullion van has been moved to the Techiman Divisional Police station for investigationDOWNL
